What’s the point from all these human rights organizations if people are deprived from their dignity? That was my first question I asked him but he didn’t answer.
How are people supposed to preserve their pride and dignity without shelter, food and medication? He didn’t answer again.
Does he even know how it like is to live without dignity? He didn’t answer so I don’t know about him, but I can tell you about some people that lock their pride and dignity in their rooms before they go out. They start their long humiliating day with tons of bombs. They start their day and they don’t know if they will live until tomorrow. They start their day with the first lesson in the “human rights” class that is their “right of living”.
Does he know that some people are afraid to get sick? Not because they are afraid of sickness but because their hospitals have no medication. They are afraid to get sick and go to a hospital where the doctors check their patients with candles because there is no electricity.
Does he know that their hospitals are worse than the veterinary clinics in his country? How to live with pride when their lives are cheaper than his pets’? We all remember when France asked its people to boycott Egypt for not treating dogs well. Why France didn’t ask people to boycott Israel for slaughtering Palestinians like sheep? Why to celebrate “the human rights day” where animals have more rights than some people?
Peace, food, shelter, medication, dignity, pride …. These are their dreams; these are the pink visions that visit them at night when they sleep. That’s when they can enjoy living with dignity. But does he know that not every one has the right of dreaming? Does he know that some people’s houses were destroyed and they don’t have a place to sleep in? Doesn’t he know that some people are being showered by tons of bombs every night? How can they sleep with this fear? How can they sleep with this pain? And if they can’t sleep, then; how can they dream? They don’t have the right to have their dignity even in their dreams.
“Dignity is for every human being” then why not them? Don’t they deserve it? Why their voices have no echo? Why their words have no trace? Why their tomorrow is cloudy? Why their poetry is mourning and bleeding the hearts? Why every one hates them?
I surrounded him with a series of questions but he didn’t answer as if he didn’t understand me or as if I was speaking a complicated language. I didn’t want to ask him more questions because I knew he wouldn’t answer me; so I didn’t want to waste more time on him.

I’m sure you know the Palestinians are not the only people hurting and dying and being deprived and stripped off their rights and dreams and dignity.
I’m sure you know the world is filled with pain and hunger and sickness and death and loneliness. I’m sure you’ve seen casualties of other wars and other human crimes and other disasters.
And even, without all that, I’m sure you’ve seen casualties of life, victims of the world, just the world, nothing else to it.
I hope you’re referring to all of those people, not just the Palestinians.
May God bless them and protect them and be with them all.
